If I understand what you've written, then you need to convert your WAV files to MP3 files.
WAV files don't technically have a proper way to store tag information aka meta data without compromising the rest of the data (or music) contained in the file.
MP3 on the other hand was designed with storage of both music data and meta data in mind.

Another time consuming task to do the conversion to be sure.
Then you've got to go and fill in the tag information.
I don't mess with that stuff too often so I can advise on the proper process to preserver tags when converting from FLAC to MP3.
I have used this program - Tagscanner -
http://www.xdlab.ru/en/to batch edit ID tags in files so you might want to give it a shot.
